As well as the full time MSc Criminology and Criminal Justice programme, from 2017/18 the Centre for Criminology has offered a part-time MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice. This part-time course is aimed at people working in criminal justice organizations who are looking to gain new qualifications and/or wish to expand their knowledge base; those with caring and other responsibilities that make full-time study difficult; and anyone with an interest in criminology who would like to study at one of the top departments in the country but who cannot for whatever reason commit to a full time programme.

Applications for the DPhil Criminology and the MSc Criminology and Criminal Justice both full and part-time are now open for entry in October 2019. The Centre's members are committed to connecting criminological work to the broader concerns of the social sciences; to thinking comparatively about crime and punishment; to bringing together sociological and normative approaches to the analysis of crime and justice; and to working at the intersections between criminology and public policy.

These are also the approaches to the study of crime and criminal justice that inform teaching and doctoral supervision in the Centre.
